And no, it's not a show of DOJ favoritism to the President's son.

What are the charges against Hunter Biden?
Hunter Biden has been charged with and will plead guilty to 2 tax-related misdemeanors.
From 2017-2018, he allegedly received over $1.5 million in taxable income annually, but failed to pay over $100,000 owed for each year.
But during the investigation, he reportedly paid off more than $2 million in tax debt.
Biden has also been charged with a felony relating to the purchase of a handgun.
He purchased a handgun in Delaware in October 2018 at a time when he was addicted to crack cocaine.
The purchase form for the gun shows that Biden lied on the form by answering “No” when asked: “Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?”
The investigation began when his sister in law, Hallie Biden, threw the gun into a garbage bin for him, and then returned to retrieve it at Biden’s instructions. The gun was eventually recovered.
